Inspiring Lines from Movies M101

May the words of the wise,
Guide our lives.

I. Rocky (1976)
Director: John G. Avildsen
Producers: Robert Chartoff and Irwin Winkler
Writer: Sylvester Stallone

Rocky is a 1976 American sports drama film. It tells the rags to riches American Dream story of Rocky Balboa, an uneducated but kind-hearted working class Italian-American boxer working as a debt collector for a loan shark in the slums of Philadelphia. Rocky starts out as a small-time club fighter, and later gets a shot at the world heavyweight championship

Rocky: Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers, saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that.

II. The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)
Director: Gabriele Muccino
Producers: Will Smith, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, James Lassiter and Steve Tisch
Writer: Steven Conrad

The Pursuit of Happyness is a 2006 American biographical drama film based on entrepreneur Chris Gardner's nearly one-year struggle being homeless. The screenplay by Steven Conrad is based on the best-selling eponymous memoir written by Gardner with Quincy Troupe.

Christopher Gardner: Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something... Not even me. All right ?

Christopher: All right.

Christopher Gardner: You got a dream. You gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you, you can't do it. If you want something, go get it. Period.

Personal Reflection
" If only we could remember,
  In times of trouble,
  Words of the wise,
  Enriched with the power,
  To lighten up,
Our dark and cloudy nights "  ----#Poetic#WithHope
